The city is distinguished by the diversity of its districts: Murattiano, with its elegant boulevards and Art Nouveau buildings, leads to Bari Vecchia, a labyrinth of narrow streets and lively streetscape. Nicknamed the "Turkish Riviera", this seaside resort, which is the most popular in the country, is home to an old city which contains fine examples of local architecture, beautifully carved woodwork, mosques, etc. Ship docked, no water sports. Boarding and disembarkation port of call.
