On Kamala Beach, you can lay down a towel on the pristine sands so you can lay back and soak in the sunshine while watching the waves gently lap the shore. If you prefer, you can also rent out mats and umbrellas from vendors on the beach. For an even more relaxing experience, you can even explore some of the small stalls along the beach to enjoy a mind-melting body or foot massage that suits your preference. The cost of these massages are very reasonable, so we recommend to getting one whenever you are by the beach. Of course, you can also engage in the usual water activities such as surfing, swimming, snorkelling, diving, paddling, and so on in the ocean.
If you want to do something near the beach but not quite on it, then one of the things you can do do at Kamala Beach, Phuket is to visit Wat Baan Kamala. This beachfront classic Buddhist temple was rebuilt in 2004 after the tsunami and houses a gorgeous garden, bell tower, small temple areas, and more within the complex. It’s an excellent spot for photography in the late afternoon, though you can come any time of the day for some spiritual peace. Another historical spot you can visit is the Tsunami Memorial Park located in the middle of Kamala Beach, which was built to remember the devastating effects of Phuket’s 2004 tsunami incident which severely affected the locals. It is only a small park but worth a visit if you are in the area.
