From its perch at 1950 metres above sea level and facing south, the stone and wood clad Resort Club Med overlooks the entire Tarentaise valley. Built on the slopes, it dominates a bona fide resort, developed with consideration and affection by the inhabitants of Montvalezan. The Savoyard interior design tells the fabulous story of the mythical Petit St Bernard pass, from the crossing of the Alps by Hannibal with his elephants, to the pilgrims crossing the high mountain, to which the fresco in reception bears witness.

We spent the first week of the Easter break at Club Med La Rosiere - it was our fourth ski club med and it did not disappoint. The club med is new - built in 2020 and all the amenities are very good.
We had two interconnected bedrooms with plenty of storage and two balconies with great views over the mountains. The rooms were very calm, modern and clean.
My kids attended both Petit Club and Mini Club and they both had a blast. The staff was nice, caring and spoke very well English which is not always the case. My kids speak both French and English but as I noticed it I thought it would be worth mentioning.
My eldest attended ESF ski class and his level of skiing imprived significantly during our stay - GOs took care of everything to prep the kids.
The swimming pool area was very noce and for once quite warm compared to other Club Med - I used the jacuzzi outside several tumes during my stay and it was lovely.
The reason I gave 4 stars was the food - we are gold members at Club Med and the food in this resort was good but not as elaborated and fine as in other club med we have been to. It was lacking diversity and quality even though it was good. At this price, you expect a little more. And one more thing that surprised me negatively around the quality of service, when we left the club, we had 3 hours of driving back to the airport and we asked for those water bottles they usually give you in the room and they could not find any. I found it quite disappointing that CM can't plan a nice good bye essentials.
Ski conditions were exceptional and La Rosiere is a nice ski resort that takes you to Italy - its very accessible as mainly red / blue and green slopes
Great location at 1950m with wonderful views. Skiing opportunity excellent with ski in/ski out. Instruction was really good and as someone who is a very competent skier I was amazed at the off-piste guiding we received. Snow and weather was great for Easter! Rooms in A block were excellent and kept clean by our wonderful maid. For such a large complex I was amazed at the quality and variety of food. The staff in the restaurant and bar were so helpful. This could not be said for the reception team who really let the whole team down. Pool was great for our grandson and the early entertainment was good. He/we were in bed by 8pm so didn't experience the full entertainment program or the Spa/well-being suite but it looked great. Overall the family trip offered great value for money but for me the hotel was way too big (perhaps circa 1000 rooms) and extroverted. I will go for something quieter next time like a catered chalet with Nanny
My first Club Med experience and I was apprehensive, always having heard how very French CM was. Anyway, I am now sold. It wasn't very French (except where it mattered, in the quality food, some of the best buffet food I have ever eaten and would happily have eaten there for another couple of weeks); instead it was very international with just about all staff speaking pretty good English, and, very un French, even at the end of what must have been a long and tiring season, they were uniformly gracious, helpful and enthusiastic. My wife had booked a family room with two doubles and large connecting lounge where she could work for a few days. This (unknown to me) apparently put us in the 'Exclusive' section of the club, with our own concierge, entrance, private bar, private transfer and a level of service, pre-arrival as well as during our stay, that beat most 5* hotels I have stayed at (which is a lot...). The layout and facilities are simply fantastic, with good pools, excellent gymn, a variety of activities laid on and the best ski locker system and space I have ever seen. La Rosiere is, in my view, when the weather is good (which it is mostly) and the link with Italy open one of the great (still largely undiscovered) ski resorts of the world, with a great variety of pistes, stunning views, few queues even in peak season, some excellent mountain restaurants and 300 days of sunshine a year, and this place allows you to make the most of it with ease and convenience. It was expensive, yes, but that was largely down to my darling wife booking us into the "exclusive' section, but, apart from ski hire, everything was included, and one could quite happily eat and drink oneself to death if you wanted to get your full money's worth. I am sure the main section was lot cheaper.... And it was not perfect: our dedicated concierge on the two occasions we needed a small fix was unwilling to lift a finger and instead told us to see someone else (why then bother having a concierge at all?); and the ski teaching service is contracted to ESF, who, if you get put into the right group with a good teacher at the beginning can be great, but if you want to change things for any reason quickly demonstrate their unfriendly and unhelpful approach to customer service to remind you that not all French monopolies have moved on from the 1970's. But putting those small gripes aside we all thought it was excellent, and we had a great and relaxing time. I would go back. Even more unusual for me, I would look at other Club Med resorts now, but always be nervous they couldn't be as good as this.
Great experience! Special kudos to Solena and Damien!

We stayed a week at la Rosiere, it was such a great stay! Massive thank you to Solena for taking care of our two kids at the mini club (she was so kind and lovely with our 8 and 5 years old) and huge thank you to Damien, pilates and body pump/ HITT instructor! Damien was so patient and passionate about his job, his class was the highlight of the week.
