Where to Go and Staying Safe: Phuket Nightlife Guide
Essential Phuket nightlife tips for every traveller
Phuket is well-known for its natural beaches and tropical wonder, but at the same time, is a popular destination for partying it up. There are plenty of options you can visit for all different kinds of entertainment, whether you are a solo traveller, a couple, or a group of friends who want the wildest night out. Here are some basic Phuket nightlife tips to help you have great evenings over in this region!
Visit Phuket’s Bangla Road for a fantastically diverse and upbeat night out on the town
Soi Bangla, or Bangla Road, is probably Phuket’s most well-known nightlife spot, and for good reason. The area boasts a number of amazing bars and clubs that are sure to liven up your night. From agogo bars like Suzy Wong’s or massive clubs like Illuzion, there’s something for everyone here. When there, here’s a Phuket nightlife tip for you: if you’re going into places with steep price tags for entrance/drinks, try bargaining, especially if you are going in a big group. Once you have a few drinks in you, don’t miss out on going to Bangla Road’s Street Food food court, where you can fill your stomach with delicious and affordable street food options!
Get some family-friendly fun at Phuket FantaSea and Siam Niramit
If you brought young children to Phuket with you and want to avoid the more adult spots, you can always check out Phuket Fantasea and Siam Niramit. Phuket Fantasea is a variety entertainment spot, where you can go to a theme park, carnival, shopping spot, and even a pre-show buffet to spend the evening before heading in for a cultural show at 9 p.m. The variety is sure to delight kids and adults alike. Siam Niramit, on the other hand, is an 80-minute stage show that showcases Thailand’s rich cultural and religious history, perfect for those who want to spend their night learning more about the local culture. There are also pre-show activities, so don’t feel afraid to go early and check them out.

Consider going beyond just Bangla Road in Phuket
While you should visit Bangla Road at least once, that doesn’t mean that should be the only place you go to for the nightlife. If you feel like heading to a quieter, less touristy spot, you can also go to Phuket Town and hit up the bars there, which are a popular haunt by expats and locals. Head on over to Kor Tor Mor for a lively nightclub that upholds a formal dress code to feel fancy, or to places like Rocking Angels Blues Cafe for some amazing live music. You can also go to Bang Tao Beach area or any of the major beaches for a pretty happening but less crowded nightlife scene as well.
For a quieter, more peaceful night, consider just hanging out around the Kata Beach area which still has several bars and nightlife options, but without the massive crowds. This is a good option if you have kids or more elderly members in your group and are not up for too rough of a party night. Grab some dinner and have some drinks before just taking a walk on the beach or exploring the nearby shops and stalls.
Sign up for an all-inclusive holiday that includes drinks
This is the Phuket nightlife tip you should abide by if you mainly are coming to Phuket to relax and don’t want to wander off too far from your resort, which is also the safer option. Club Med Phuket offers exactly this; our all-inclusive holiday package covers your accommodation, all-day dining, all-day drinks, as well as a wide range of land and water activities you can partake in. The all-day drinks are available at not just our two restaurants, but also the two ambiently-different bars we have onsite. For a more intimate, relaxing setting, head on over to our poolside Zen Bar, while for something more vibrant and with a dance floor, visit The Sanook instead. You have free access to both these bars during your stay with us so it’s drinks not just at night, but all-day! On top of that, you also have the option to enjoy our in-house night show, performed by our wonderful staff.
Stay safe with common sense
While Phuket is generally a safe place, our last Phuket nightlife tip is to be alert and take care of your safety. As with any unfamiliar tourist location, never leave drinks unattended, and keep the tourist police’s number (1155) saved in your phone should you need it. Try not to go anywhere alone, and even if you are partying by the beachside, don’t attempt to swim in the ocean when intoxicated at night. Always keep an eye on your wallet and bag too, and when walking, wear your bag on the side away from the road.
Don’t let the above scare you though; Phuket’s nightlife is still a must-experience by all means, and you’ll be fine as long as you are alert and aware of what’s happening around you at all times. With so many things to experience in Phuket to fulfil most people’s preferences, there’s no reason not to party it up at night in a way that’s most comfortable to you and your travel companions!
